Rash of Robberies Plagues Tokyo's High-End Shopping Districts

Three men armed with knives robbed a luxury watch store, Quark, in Tokyo's upscale Ginza neighborhood in broad daylight, stealing over 100 watches worth up to 22 million yen. The robbers held five employees hostage and smashed display cases before escaping in a white van. The police later arrested four men believed to be involved in the robbery. No one was injured in the incident, but the brazen heist is extremely rare in Japan's low-crime society.
