Pilot Convicted of Manslaughter for Decapitating Wingsuit Flyer

A French pilot has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and operating an aircraft without a valid license after decapitating an experienced skydiver with the wing of his plane. The victim, Nicholas Galy, was struck by the plane's wing seconds after he jumped in July 2018. The pilot received a suspended sentence of 12 months and a one-year flying ban. The court also fined the parachuting school involved, but half of the fine was suspended. The incident occurred due to a lack of communication between the victim and the pilot regarding the plane's trajectory.
