Nun Arrested in Major Italian Mafia Crackdown

A nun, Sister Anna Donelli, is among 25 people arrested in northern Italy as part of a four-year investigation into the 'Ndrangheta mafia. The arrests, which include two politicians, were made across Lombardy, Veneto, and Calabria, with assets worth over €1.8m seized. The nun allegedly acted as a go-between for the mafia and jailed members, exploiting her volunteer role in prisons. The operation continues with extensive searches for weapons, drugs, and cash, as the group is accused of laundering €12m through scrap metal businesses.
