Joran van der Sloot Attacked in Jail

Joran van der Sloot, serving a 28-year sentence in Peru for the murder of a Peruvian student, was attacked by inmates in prison. He was also sentenced to 20 years in Alabama for extortion and wire fraud related to Natalee Holloway's case. Van der Sloot suffered bruises and lacerations but will not be punished as he did not initiate the fight. He confessed to Holloway's murder in 2012 and attempted extortion, and is serving concurrent sentences for both crimes.
