Italian Nun Arrested in Major Mafia Crackdown

Italian nun Anna Donelli has been arrested for allegedly acting as a mafia intermediary, passing messages between the 'Ndrangheta crime syndicate and their associates in prison. Donelli, who had extensive access to prisons due to her spiritual role, was part of a larger police operation that detained 24 others for mafia-related crimes. The operation also led to the seizure of nearly €2 million. Donelli had previously been recognized for her voluntary work in prisons.
