International Raids Target Italy's 'Ndrangheta Mafia Group

Police across Europe have arrested over 100 people in a major crackdown on the 'Ndrangheta, one of the world's largest crime networks. The operation, involving ten countries, was the biggest ever carried out against the group, with assets worth €25m seized. Most of the arrests took place in Italy, with suspects facing charges of international drug trafficking, money laundering, and possession of weapons. Millions of euros were seized, as well as thousands of tonnes of narcotics, including cocaine, heroin, and hashish. The investigation has revealed new information about how the 'Ndrangheta operates, including during the Covid pandemic.
