Ghana Minister Cecilia Abena Dapaah Arrested Amid Robbery Scandal

Ghanaian government minister Cecilia Abena Dapaah, who reported a theft at her house, has been arrested herself. According to a court charge sheet, a large sum of money, including $1m, 300,000 euros, and 350,000 Ghana cedis, along with personal items, was stolen. Dapaah disputes the figures but resigned from her post as minister of sanitation and water resources. The Office of the Special Prosecutor has arrested and is questioning her for suspected corruption and corruption-related offenses. The investigation centers around two domestic workers who allegedly stole the cash and other goods. The former minister's political future is uncertain as the investigation continues.
