Gangster Atiq Ahmad and Brother Shot Dead, Three Men in Custody.

Mafia-turned-politician Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf were shot dead in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj while being taken for a medical. Atiq Ahmad's last words were "Nahi le gaye to nahi gaye (they did not take us, so we did not go)" when asked about not being taken to his son's funeral. Both were accused in the Umesh Pal murder case. Atiq Ahmad's son Asad was killed in an encounter in Jhansi on April 13 along with Ghulam, both of whom were wanted in the Umesh Pal murder case.
