French Teenagers Convicted in Teacher Paty's Beheading Trial

Six French teenagers have been convicted in connection with the 2020 beheading of history teacher Samuel Paty, who was murdered after showing his students caricatures of the Prophet Mohammad. The court found one teenager guilty of making false accusations, while the others were convicted of participating in a pre-meditated criminal conspiracy and helping to prepare the attack. The heaviest sentence was a 6-month prison term, but most of the sentences were suspended. Another trial involving adults is scheduled for next year.
