"Colombian President's Son Detained in Money Laundering Investigation"

The son of Colombian President Gustavo Petro, Nicolas Petro, has been arrested in connection with a money laundering and illicit enrichment investigation. He is accused of accepting money from drug traffickers in exchange for including them in his father's efforts to broker peace talks with criminal organizations. President Petro expressed his sadness over his son's arrest but assured that the prosecution procedures would be carried out in accordance with the law. An arrest warrant was also issued for Nicolas Petro's former wife in relation to the same crimes.
