Cancun Gang Members Arrested After Grisly Machete Murders

Six members of a drug gang in Cancun were arrested for allegedly killing and dismembering five people with a machete and burying three others in a shallow grave. The gang, involved in drug sales, extortion, vehicle thefts, and homicide, was also linked to a large drug operation targeting tourists. Despite ongoing violent crime and drug sales, Cancun remains a popular tourist destination, with foreigners spending almost $31 billion in the country last year, half of which was spent in Cancun.
