British Teen Jailed for Plotting Terrorist Attack on Police and Soldiers

A British teenager, Matthew King, who was reported to anti-terror authorities by his mother, has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of six years for plotting a terror attack on police officers or soldiers. King, who was radicalized online during the pandemic, expressed a desire to kill military personnel and travel to Syria to join ISIS. His mother's report to the Prevent counter-terror program and a tip-off through an anti-terror hotline thwarted his plans. The judge found King to be a dangerous offender who carried a risk of future harm to the public.
