American Woman Fatally Shot in Tulum Beach Club Crossfire

An American woman, identified as 44-year-old Niko Honarbakhsh, was killed in a suspected drug dealer dispute at a Tulum beach club in Mexico. The incident also resulted in the death of a man from Belize, who was found in possession of cocaine and pills. Authorities are hunting the shooting suspects, and the U.S. State Department had previously issued a travel warning for increased caution in Mexico's Caribbean beach resorts. Tulum has seen previous deadly violence involving foreign citizens, including a 2021 shooting incident.
