Rising Journalist Deaths in Israel-Gaza Conflict Demand Immediate Action

The Gaza-Israel conflict has become the deadliest for journalists since 1992, with at least 39 journalists and media workers killed in the past month. While most victims are Palestinian journalists killed in Israeli attacks, there have also been cases of journalists being targeted, harassed, and threatened by Israeli authorities. The high rate of journalist fatalities hampers the ability to gather accurate information and exposes the public to propaganda. The United Nations' Plan of Action on the Safety of Journalists has not been effective in preventing journalist deaths, and if Israel is indeed targeting journalists, it would constitute a war crime.
