Ukraine makes significant gains in counteroffensive against Russian forces.

Ukraine claims to have retaken eight villages from Russian forces in two weeks of offensive operations, including the village of Piatykhatky in the southern Zaporizhzhia region. Russia denies the claim and says it has repelled numerous attacks. Both sides are suffering high numbers of military casualties. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy lauded the efforts of the troops and said he would continue talks with Western allies to get additional weapons and ammunition supplies.
