The sniper attack occurred as the women were walking to the Sister's Convent, with one woman being killed while trying to carry the other to safety. Seven others were also injured in the attack. The patriarchate condemned the incident, stating that no warning or notification was given and that the victims were shot in cold blood. The IDF has not yet commented on the incident.
