German newspaper cuts jobs and turns to AI for digital future.

German tabloid company Bild has denied reports that it is replacing editorial jobs with AI and "automated processes." Instead, the company is restructuring its regional newspaper editions, reducing from 18 to 12 by the end of the year, and closing 10 out of 15 regional offices. The company will "increasingly use AI to support journalistic work," but a spokesperson confirmed that the job reductions have nothing to do with AI. The use of AI will create more time and space for journalistic creativity for editors and reporters.
