United Airlines Pilot Suspended and Sentenced for Intoxication on International Flight

A United Airlines pilot was removed from service and received a suspended prison sentence and fine after showing up drunk to work a flight from Paris to Washington, D.C. The pilot's blood alcohol concentration was reportedly more than three times the legal limit set by the FAA. United Airlines stated that the safety of their customers and crew is their top priority and that they have a strict no-tolerance policy for alcohol. The airline is cooperating with local authorities in the investigation.
