Delhi G20 Summit: Flight cancellations, traffic concerns, and preparations reviewed

Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) has received requests to cancel 160 domestic flights in order to make parking space for the large number of VVIP aircraft expected at IGI Airport for the G20 Leaders' Summit. Airlines will be required to cut over 700 commercial flights during the four-day summit. While the cancellations are believed to be due to a shortage of parking slots caused by grounded aircraft, DIAL has stated that it has adequate parking. Travel companies are expecting an increase in road travel as flights are affected, and the government's holiday announcement has triggered an increase in searches for drivable destinations near Delhi.
