A zoo in China has denied allegations that its bears are actually humans dressed in costumes after viral photos and videos raised suspicions. The images showed a bear standing on its hind legs with pant-like folds on its rear. The zoo, located in Hangzhou, insisted that their Malaysian sun bears were genuine and attributed the bear's stance to the hot temperatures on the day of recording. China has a history of zoos attempting to pass off animals as different species, including incidents of humans dressed as gorillas and dogs being presented as lions.
