"Rare Six-Legged Dog Thrives After Life-Changing Surgery"

Ariel, a spaniel born with six legs, was found abandoned in a parking lot and underwent surgery to remove her extra limbs, allowing her to adjust to life on four paws. The surgery was performed at the Langford Vets Small Animal Referral Hospital in Bristol, England, and the dog, who had multiple birth defects, is now doing brilliantly, according to director Vicki Black. The hospital had never seen a six-legged dog before and had never performed that type of surgery.
