Fatal Crash: US Military Osprey Aircraft Goes Down off Southern Japan

A crew member has been pronounced dead after a US military Osprey aircraft carrying six people crashed off southern Japan. The cause of the crash and the status of the other five on board are unknown. The coast guard received an emergency call from a fishing boat near the crash site off Yakushima, and one person was found dead along with debris from the aircraft. The Osprey, a hybrid aircraft that takes off and lands like a helicopter, has had previous accidents and is deployed at both US and Japanese military bases.
