Fatal Accident in Berlin's Paternoster Elevator

A man died in Berlin after getting stuck in the machinery of an old-fashioned paternoster elevator in a building that houses an ophthalmological clinic and a physiotherapy center. The man was apparently descending from an upper floor when the accident happened. The fire service sent 30 officers to the scene, but the man died from severe injuries at the scene. Paternoster elevators still exist in some German public buildings.
