Tragic Death of British Base Jumper in Thailand Due to Parachute Failure

A 33-year-old British base jumper died in Pattaya, Thailand, after his parachute failed to open when he jumped from a 29-storey building. The victim, an experienced parachutist, was filming the jump with friends. Base jumping, an extreme sport popular among foreigners in southeast Asia, has a high fatality rate and little margin for error. This incident follows a similar fatality in southeast France in March 2022.
