Surfer's Life Hangs in Balance After Brutal Great White Shark Attack in Australia

A surfer in Australia, identified as Tony Begg, is clinging to life after being attacked by a suspected great white shark off the country's east coast. The 44-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries, including major leg injuries, in the sustained and prolonged attack. Witnesses applied a tourniquet to his leg before he was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The victim, Toby Begg, tried to fight off the shark for 30 seconds before swimming to shore. He is undergoing surgery for his injuries.
