Rebuilding Lives: Ukraine's Soldiers Fight for Healing and Adaptation

Andrii Smolenskyi, a Ukrainian soldier, lost his arms and eyes in the war with Russia. With an estimated 7,000 to 10,000 wounded Ukrainian soldiers needing prosthetics, Ukraine's healthcare system is overwhelmed. Operation Renew Prosthetics, a collaboration between nonprofits and Medical Center Orthotics and Prosthetics, aims to provide prosthetic limbs to wounded soldiers. However, the demand is high, and the cost of making people whole again is expensive.
