Train Derailment Shuts Down I-25 North of Pueblo

Interstate 25 is closed in both directions north of Pueblo after a train derailment caused cars and coal to spill onto the roadway. The railroad bridge over the highway collapsed during the incident, and the cause of the derailment is still unknown. Rescue crews are working to extract the unconscious driver of a semitrailer that was under the bridge at the time of the crash. The closure is expected to last until Monday as authorities remove the train cars and coal from the interstate. Motorists are advised to use detour routes provided by the Colorado State Patrol.
