Apple's Future: Metalens for Lower Costs and AR Glasses Launch in 2026/2027.

Apple is reportedly planning to replace plastic lens covers with metalens technology for its future iPad Pro and iPhone models, starting from 2024. Metalens is cheaper to mass produce and helps reduce thickness. The technology is expected to debut on the iPad Pro's Face ID camera cover, with the iPhone to follow later. Metalens is predicted to become a widely adopted component by 2028 to 2030, even on low-end cameras or LiDAR systems. Apple may also introduce it to its augmented reality glasses in the future.
