"University of Oregon and University of Washington Make Historic Move to Big Ten Conference"

The Big Ten Council of Presidents/Chancellors (COP/C) has unanimously voted to admit the University of Oregon and the University of Washington to the Big Ten Conference, effective August 2, 2024. The schools will also join the Big Ten Academic Alliance. The move is seen as a transformational opportunity for both universities, providing stability, exposure, and the chance to compete at the highest level in collegiate athletics. The decision was made after the universities submitted written applications and received unanimous approval from the Big Ten COP/C.
