Transgender Sports Controversy Sparks Walkout at Florida High School

Monarch High School in Florida is facing scrutiny and an investigation over transgender participation in girls' sports, which allegedly violated state law. The principal and several staff members have been reassigned pending the outcome of the investigation. The controversy arose when a biological male, who is either transitioning or in the midst of transitioning, was allowed to play on the girls' volleyball team. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a law in 2021 prohibiting transgender athletes from competing in female sports.
