"Nebraska Volleyball Shatters Women's Sports Attendance Record"

Nebraska volleyball broke the global women's sports attendance record with a crowd of 92,003 at the "Volleyball Day in Nebraska" event held at Memorial Stadium. The previous record was 91,648 set in a UEFA Champions League semifinal in Spain. Nebraska's coach and athletic director came up with the idea after Wisconsin set a regular-season attendance record last year. The Huskers have played in front of nine of the 10 largest crowds for a collegiate volleyball match. The event signifies the growing momentum in women's sports and may inspire other schools to reimagine possibilities for women's sports.
