Mage Claims Victory in Controversial Kentucky Derby

Mage, a 15-1 shot, won the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, capping a day that included two more horse fatalities at Churchill Downs. Mage had only one win in his career, but made a gutsy stretch run to overtake Two Phil’s and win by a length. The race was marred by the deaths of six horses in recent days, including Derby contender Wild On Ice.
