Navy Surveillance Plane Lands in Hawaii Bay After Overshooting Runway

A Navy Poseidon surveillance plane overshot a runway while approaching a Marine Corps base in Hawaii, ending up in Kaneohe Bay. All nine passengers on board were accounted for and no injuries were reported. The crew, assigned to the VP-4 squadron, was on a detachment in support of maritime homeland defense. Booms have been placed in the water to prevent any hazardous materials from spreading, and an investigation is underway.
