Eight Chicago Landmarks on Preservation Chicago’s 2026 Endangered List

Preservation Chicago released its 2026 Most Endangered Buildings list, highlighting eight at-risk sites across the city—from the Art Institute of Chicago’s Stock Exchange Trading Room and McKinlock Court to the LaSalle Street bridges, St. Mary of the Assumption Church, the Chicago Loop Synagogue, South Park Terrace Apartments, the Yukon Building and St. Mark Roman Catholic Church Campus—calling for protections, possible landmark designations, and renewed investment to preserve Chicago’s architectural and cultural legacy.
