Mallory Beach's Family Secures $15M Settlement in Wrongful Death Suit

The family of Mallory Beach, who was killed in a 2019 boat crash, has reached a $15 million settlement with all remaining defendants, including Alex Murdaugh, weeks before the civil case was set to go to court. Beach, 19, was thrown from the boat and her body was found five days later. The settlement comes after months of negotiations and will prevent the case from going to trial. Other defendants in the case include convenience store owner Greg Parker and his company, who sold alcohol to Murdaugh's son, the alleged driver of the boat at the time of the accident. Alex Murdaugh, who is currently serving a life sentence for the murders of his wife and son, owned the boat involved in the crash.
