The lawsuit alleged that Paul Murdaugh, who was drunk at the time of the crash, used his brother's ID to purchase alcohol from the store. Paul Murdaugh and his mother were later shot and killed, and his father, attorney Alex Murdaugh, was found guilty of their murders. The settlement cancels the civil trial and the remaining claims against Alex Murdaugh will be handled by the court's receiver.
