Family of Banko Brown sues Walgreens and security company for wrongful death.

The family of Banko Brown, a transgender man shot and killed by a security guard at a Walgreens store in San Francisco, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the store, private security company Kingdom Protective Services, and the security guard, Michael Earl-Wayne Anthony. The lawsuit claims that the security guard shot and killed Brown unnecessarily due to Walgreens' policies that caused the guard to think he could use lethal force against petty theft. The family is seeking at least $25 million in damages. The lack of criminal charges against the security guard has spurred protests in San Francisco, and the California Attorney General's Office has agreed to review the decision not to charge Anthony.
