Multiple Lawsuits Filed Against Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for Sexual Assault and Harassment

Brittany Commisso, a former aide to ex-New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, is filing a lawsuit against him alleging sexual harassment and abuse. Commisso is one of 11 women whose claims of harassment were substantiated by a report in August 2021. The lawsuit is being filed under New York's Adult Survivors Act, which allows adult survivors of sexual offenses to sue their alleged abusers even if the statute of limitations on their claims has expired. Cuomo has denied the claims, and his attorney called the lawsuit an attempted "cash grab." The lawsuit seeks damages for the personal injuries and economic loss suffered by Commisso.
