Fired Ohio K-9 Officer's Deceptive Actions and Crying Led to Termination After Dog Attack

The Ohio police officer, Ryan Speakman, who was fired for releasing his K-9 on a surrendering truck driver, continuously cried and discussed the incident with colleagues and relatives, according to newly released records. Despite being warned by the police chief to stop talking about the incident, Speakman was deceptive and released confidential information. The Circleville Police Use of Force Review Board determined that department policies were followed, but Speakman was terminated for not meeting the department's standards and expectations. The officer had begged the chief to not take his dog away, but it is unclear if he was able to keep the dog after his termination. The truck driver, Jadarrius Rose, suffered dog bites and was charged with failure to comply.
