Ukraine's Western-armed counteroffensive intensifies tensions with Russia.

Ukraine has launched a counteroffensive against Russian forces in the southeast of the country, using Western arms and equipment. The Ukrainians are aiming to expel Russian invaders in the city of Zaporizhzhia and have retaken approximately 1.4 km of territory north of the eastern city of Bakhmut. Heavy fighting is ongoing along multiple sectors of the front, with high casualties expected on both sides. The Russians are using drones to identify Ukrainian positions and then implementing the artillery technique of 'bracketing' to try and hit advancing soldiers.
