Palestinian Teenager and Female Prisoner Among Those Released, Mixed Emotions Emerge

Thirty-nine Palestinian teenagers and women were released from Israeli prisons as part of a ceasefire agreement, bringing the total number of Palestinians released to 78. The exchange was delayed due to accusations from Hamas that Israel had changed the agreed list of prisoners and that not enough aid shipments had reached Gaza. However, the handover proceeded after mediation involving Qatar and Egypt. Among those released was Mohammad dar-Darwish, a 17-year-old who expressed his happiness at returning home. Israel has compiled a list of 300 Palestinian prisoners, mainly teenage boys, who are eligible for release under the deal.
