Americans Released in Iran Prisoner Swap Return Home

Five Americans who were imprisoned in Iran for years have been released and landed in the US as part of a controversial prisoner swap. The prisoners, who are dual Iranian-US citizens, were flown from Tehran to Doha before being transferred to a plane bound for the US. The release was finalized when $6 billion in Iranian cash, held in South Korea, was sent to banks in Doha. The Americans had an emotional reunion with their families upon landing. In addition to the Americans, five Iranians imprisoned in the US were also released. US President Joe Biden welcomed the prisoner swap but vowed to continue imposing costs on Iran for its actions in the region.
