"Possible Hate Crime: Palestinian Students Shot in Vermont, Suspect Pleads Not Guilty"

Three college students of Palestinian descent were shot and seriously injured in Vermont in what is being investigated as a possible hate crime. The victims, all 20 years old, were out for a walk when they were confronted by a white man with a handgun. Two of the students were struck in their torsos, while one was hit in the lower extremities. The U.S. Department of Justice is investigating whether the shooting is connected to the increase in threats against Jewish, Muslim, and Arab communities since the Israel-Hamas war began. The suspect, Jason J. Eaton, has been charged with three counts of attempted murder and is being held without bail.
