Hong Kong-born American singer Coco Lee, known for her fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, died at the age of 48 after attempting suicide. Lee had been battling depression, and despite seeking professional help, her condition worsened in recent months. She was rushed to the hospital over the weekend and remained in a coma until her passing. Lee, who had a successful career spanning 30 years, was the first Chinese singer to establish herself in the American market and performed at the Oscars in 2001.
