Sinners Sets Oscar Nominations Record With 16

Sinners leads the 98th Oscars with a record 16 nominations (beating the previous 14‑nomination mark), while One Battle After Another trails with 13; both Warner Bros. films are heavy contenders across major categories. Sinners grossed about $368 million worldwide, and One Battle After Another about $206 million. Acting nods include Teyana Taylor, Elle Fanning, Sean Penn and Delroy Lindo. The ceremony on March 15 will air on ABC and Hulu with Conan O’Brien hosting, and the Academy is expanding Best Picture to 10 and adding a casting-director trophy.
