The Oscars 2024 In Memoriam segment paid tribute to numerous actors, filmmakers, composers, and other industry professionals who passed away in the last year, including Michael Gambon, Norman Jewison, Harry Belafonte, and others. The segment ended with a montage of additional names and a link to the Academy's website for more. The names for the In Memoriam segment are chosen by a committee based on their contributions to filmmaking, and while the list is never long enough to include all possible honorees, the Oscars also has a list online honoring Academy members who have passed away in the past year.
