Nintendo and Sony Collaborate for Live-Action Legend of Zelda Movie

Sony and Nintendo are co-financing a live-action movie adaptation of the popular video game The Legend of Zelda, with Wes Ball set to direct. The film will follow the adventures of warrior Link and Princess Zelda as they battle the evil warlord turned demon king Ganon to save the magical land of Hyrule. Nintendo will fund over 50% of the project, and Sony will handle worldwide theatrical release. The success of the recent Super Mario Bros animated film has likely contributed to the decision to bring another Nintendo game to the big screen. No release date has been announced yet.
