Marvel Fires Jonathan Majors Following Assault Conviction

Marvel Studios has dropped actor Jonathan Majors after he was convicted of assaulting his then-girlfriend. Majors, known for his role as Kang the Conqueror in Marvel films, could face up to a year in prison. Marvel had already pushed back release dates for upcoming films in which he was set to star. It is unclear whether Marvel will replace him or write his character out of the films. Majors' upcoming film, Dreams, had its release postponed, and the US Army dropped him from a major advertising campaign. The actor's former girlfriend testified that he physically and emotionally abused her, and the jury found him guilty of assault and harassment. Sentencing will take place in February.
