Gareth Edwards is in final negotiations to direct a new Jurassic World movie for Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, after David Leitch couldn't reach a deal. The film, set for release on July 2, 2025, will be a fresh take on the Jurassic era and will not feature the previous cast members. Edwards, known for directing Godzilla and Rogue One, impressed producers Steven Spielberg and Frank Marshall, and the film will be executive produced by Spielberg.
