Canada Relocates Diplomats from India to Southeast Asia Amid Diplomatic Tensions

Canada has reportedly relocated a majority of its diplomats stationed outside of New Delhi to Malaysia or Singapore amidst tensions with India over allegations of an Indian link to the killing of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. This move comes after India expressed its determination to reduce the number of Canadian diplomats in the country to achieve parity in diplomatic presence. The Indian government has given Canada until October 10 to reduce its diplomatic staff to match the number of Indian diplomats in Canada. The diplomatic row between India and Canada has also caught the attention of the US, with the US special envoy urging India to assist in the investigation into Nijjar's killing.
